About Ayre Hypnotherapy

Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Derek, and I ran and managed Ayre Hypnotherapy in Cardiff, UK from 1976 to 2009 when I stopped seeing clients on a face-to-face basis.

However, I am only in semi-retirement and doubt whether I will ever retire completely and stop helping and supporting people by answering questions or pointing them in the right direction in order to support the improvement in the quality of their life. On this page, I will outline my personal philosophy of life,  I have also held as a therapist for the past 40 years or so.

The main aim of my website is to demonstrate to others that they can indeed become their own therapist using self-hypnosis, and Zen meditation techniques. I do not make a charge for any information or guidance I can give you from this website.

The Zen Connection

Osho Zen HypnosisAround 1979, I became interested in Zen and started practicing zazen (a form of Zen meditation) on a daily basis. I combined my experience of the power of Zen with psychotherapy, hypnosis, self-hypnosis and meditation in groups and on a one-to-one basis. It is through this Zen-like influence that my clients began to experience some powerful results and began to recognize and become more sensitive to the knowledge when they entered a state of hypnosis.

I see Zen as a way of life and I am committed to continue to practice self-hypnosis and all the Zen disciplines outlined on this website myself. Even after some 40 years I am still constantly realizing more and of the inner potential of the subconscious mind.

Spiritual growth doesn't ever stop regardless of age or current knowledge about the workings of the mind and hypnosis, but it is more about a journey, than a destination. The journey IS the destination.

Anybody can master the powerful techniques of Zen meditation and achieve a higher level of mastery in life. And this why I am keeping the site live.

The potential of the human mind is truly incredible of which it is said, that a genius uses only 12% but there is "beingness" of "Self" that is not the mind but far transcends the mind. This is what the journey of Zen practice is all about.

Zen is not for everyone, and is no "walk in the park", but I wouldn't have it any other way and my intention continues to assist as many individuals who are willing, to achieve a greater level of 'reality' in life. Please feel free to read all that is on this website, and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via the e-mail links that you see throughout these pages.
