How to read a "Mind Trip" Make sure that you are not going to be disturbed for the next 20-30 minutes and sit in a comfortable chair. Make sure all phones are turned off or unplugged from the wall. Relax... Read slowly allowing the words to form mental images in your mind, stopping wherever you wish to close your eyes for a moment or two to get to feel the full atmosphere. The Mind Trip. You are walking down a dimly-lit ancient corridor. There's a slight dank smell coming from the walls which are made of stone and cool to the touch. You can feel the movement of your legs as you put one foot in front of the other. Your footsteps echo slightly. In the dim light you can see you are coming to a rounded wall - the end of the corridor and as you get closer, you realise that there is a spiral stone stairway leading downwards and you can just about make out a beam of light at the bottom. Feel yourself sinking slowly down the stairway one step at a time. There are ten steps. Count each step backwards from 10 through to zero, feeling more and more relaxed with each step. At the bottom of the steps you are faces with a door that is slightly ajar where the light is coming from and you can now give it a gentle push. Feel the ancient wood of the door. It is quite heavy and you can feel the weight as you push it. As it swings open, you can feel the gentle warmth of the sun on your face and the light is comfortable but you need to blink a few times for your eyes to get acclimatised. In front of you is a beautiful garden. The lawns are a lush , well maintained and stretch out like a sheet of green velvet. Dotted about the lawn are small flower beds full of exotic blooms and edged around the lawn are border full of every coloured plant imaginable and beyond that are trees of various shades of green. You can hear birds singing... You look down and realise that you are barefoot and can feel the cool blades of grass soft beneath your feet as you begin to walk across the lawn. As you near the border, you find a small stone path leading into the trees beckoning you to enter a small woodland. Feel the it get slightly cooler as you enter. Soon you come across a hammock slung between two trees and without any effort whatsoever, you are able to think yourself into that hammock. Because here, in your private universe, all you need to do is to think yourself into any situation you wish, and it will be done instantaneously. As you swing slowly back and forth in the hammock, you are feeling very comfortable, cossetted, protected from all the stress and strains of everyday life. So just stay a while feeling the rocking motions, hear the slight creaking noise of the ropes on the tree branches...... *** Now you are ready to return and this will be easy because you can just float yourself back to the world we call physical reality. You are floating gently off the hammock - it is very pleasant. Floating across the law and into the ancient doorway, up the spiral stairway along the corridor and back this reality. Notice your computer screen in front of you, the walls that surround you, the room that you're in. Notice how you are feeling right now.... Get up from your chair and stretch...
