5-Minute Meditation: Return to Source

Make yourself comfortable in a private place, close your eyes and relax. Let your breath move slowly and deeply. As you breathe, draw your attention to your solar plexus, in the center of your belly, just below your rib cage. Feel the continual rise and fall of your breath...

As you sink into a deep state of relaxation, begin to pull all your awareness into that center. Watch all outside thoughts float away as your mind becomes quiet. Feel your essence becoming more and more concentrated, pulling further and further inward until you have become the smallest point of light...

You sense a shift in your consciousness, as though you have passed through a portal within. You find yourself sitting in a beautiful chamber, surrounded by glistening, pearlescent walls. Now, see yourself get up and walk to the door, open it, and step outside...

You are standing in a lush, green garden. Before you, is a path. Step onto the path and go where it takes you. Look around you and behold the beauty of the life that is emanating, all around you, in the flowers and the trees. The fragrance is intoxicating. The path leads you to a small circle of flowers. Step into the circle and sit down. All is safe here...

In this place, you find perfect silence. Let yourself melt into the peaceful power of this vast silence. Let the silence drown out everything else. Here, in this sacred space, you realize that this world is yours and yours alone. YOU are the source. Rest here in this knowing...

When you are ready to return, get up from your circle of flowers, say thank you to your sacred space and follow the path back to your chamber. Know that you can return any time you like. Close your chamber door, sit down and let yourself pass back into your stomach area...

Open your eyes, stretch, and bring your awareness back to your body. Remember the power that you hold. It is yours to take with you wherever you go.
